- Reviewed in the United States on December 6, 2016This 30 day devotional by David Ramos Will display the characteristics of God and His heart toward His people. Each of the readings are 1 to 2 pages and has Scriptures along with practical application, helping the reader gain greater awareness of how God works on our behalf. I found my faith increasing and found rest and realizing that God intimately knows us.
This devotional also taught me God is patient with us and has long-suffering on our behalf. If you are interested in learning more of the nature of God then this resource is well worth exploring. In an easy to read, very interesting fashion, Ramose will use Abrahams life, and the book of Genesis to teach many lessons.
Whether God says yes or no to our prayers, you will be strengthened to know that He is in control. This devotional can remind us time and again if used for each day of the month, that our journey is safe when we put our trust in God. What I like about this book is that they're short readings yet cover areas where one can meditate on throughout the day.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 25, 2015This is an amazing book on many levels. It goes well beyond the typical devotional. Much more than just a passage and a quaint message David Ramos goes into the heart of what he is presenting in a clear and insightful manner. David gives you a special "take away" from each message and a meaningful devotional prayer.
What struck me most and makes it so enjoyable is that David brings out special nuggets of insight and truly shares them in a touching way. You can see his gift for relaying these treats as well as his love for the material. As many times as I have been over some of these passages, David presents them it in a fresh way heading for a personal message and a new insight. Each devotional is a lesson, a story, motivational, and encouraging. Always insightful and keeps you interested to see what he brings out next.
One particular passage when Abraham is interceding with God concerning Sodom's fate. As God lowers his requirements for the number of righteous needed to spare the city, David brings out how Abraham's prayer is moving God and our fervent prayer moves God as well! David challenges us to "change the world" with faith and prayer as did the patriarchs. You will be drawn into this book and look forward to the next devotion with expectation and excitement. I have several other of David's books and anxiously await his next devotional.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 26, 2017This read is reassuring. What I mean is it takes the struggles of Abraham, (the father of all nations) and makes his circumstances applicable and relevant to modern society. Abraham was a man of little stature. I’m not referring to his physical appearance but his position in the community. He wasn’t prestigious, or royalty, he was a regular man with common troubles. (Something we all can relate to)
Abraham is approached by God and granted promises. Abraham countless times falters in his belief, don’t we all, but inevitably obtains that which was allocated to him. The story of Abraham gives many, an outline to follow, compare and find hope in their own lives. The impossible was done with Abraham and his wife sarah. Not only that, Abraham’s faith in God and his actions of belief prompted Abraham to be, if not the, one of the most influential figures of humanity. One key aspect one should take away from this read is there was a story before Abraham and one after. Which means that the world doesn’t revolve around us and what we want. Sometimes we humans don’t or never see the bigger picture, and sometimes what God does is more for the bigger picture than for us.
Another concept one should grab onto is God asking of us to do difficult things. I’m sure the most difficult thing Abraham was faced with was the sacrifice of his son whom God had just given him. The son he hoped, prayed and endured for was now being taken away. How many would have the faith of Abraham to give back something we desperately wanted? There’s tons of faith enhancing nuggets we can take away from the story of Abraham m.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2018This is a great book which gave me much to think on concerning the promises of God and our trust in Him. As God says, "Is anything to hard for Me?" Some of us, through life , struggle to trust God because of how we were treated by our dad or an important figure in our life. We liken God to that person. I have had that type of struggle and this book puts things back in perspective. God loves us so much that He desires to have relationship with us, as He did with Abraham . I highly recommend this devotional to you. You will see that God wants the best for His children. Watch how the problems Abraham faced had a promise and a provision attached. This is the same with us. This is a book that, if you let God, He will reveal His truths to you, as well as Himself.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2017What more can I say but, "Wow! Where can I find more?" It's beautifully insightful & poignant but is really a teaser that made me want to relearn our Judaic roots of the Bible, both Old & New. We Christians must know & appreciate the Jews, for without them we would be Godless. Even without a Savior.
So why do fool's seek to punish the Jews? According to a dinner guest of A. Hitler, when asked "Why the Jews?", he said, (I paraphrase from memory):
'The Jews gave us a Bible & a God. There had to be a reckoning'. How's that for the Truth behind antisemitism?! Sounds a bit more Satanic than Christian; because hate & destruction are always born of Satan. Always. We owe much to all who fall under the Abrahamic Covenant.
Thanks to David Ramos for generously giving freely "that all may be [taught of Christ] & be safely gathered in" in these last days. I'm greatly uplifted & edified.
From your new Mormon (which means devoted Christian *see title) Friend.
God Bless u in your Ministry! Thank u! Amy :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspirational!
I loved the take on this mini devotional. It is so easy for us to sometimes think that our christian walk is very different from the stories we read in the bible. David Ramos takes us on a short but worthwhile journey to see how Abraham's life is similar to ours and shows us how it can positively impact our lives.

A great devotional book. Takes one through the life of Abraham. Not too heavy. Good for family devotions or small group input. Keep writing, David.
